Zeping is a native Mandarin teacher completing her master’s in International Chinese Education at Beijing Language and Culture University.

She spent 2024–25 as a volunteer Chinese teacher at Mahaprutaram Girls School in Bangkok and has assisted on BLCU’s College of Applied Chinese programmes.

She specialises in teenagers preparing for the YCT, mixing exam work with activities they enjoy.

Before you join

What age is this for?

Usually ages 11–15, but level matters more than age. If you’re unsure, watch a sample YCT lesson together first.

Does a parent need to sit with my child?

Younger children do best with a parent nearby for the first few classes, mainly to help with the device. After that most can join on their own.

What is the YCT?

The Youth Chinese Test, the official Chinese exam for school-age learners, run by Chinese Testing International (chinesetest.cn). Classes follow its levels, and taking the exam is optional.

Can’t make the live time?

Every class is recorded. The replay appears in the portal after class, so your child can catch up and join live when possible.

What do I need?

A phone, tablet or computer with a stable connection. Headphones with a microphone help with speaking practice.

How do I cancel?

Email [email protected] from the email you signed up with and we’ll stop the renewal. Access continues until the end of the month you’ve paid for.

What comes after YCT 4?

Most teens continue with the adult HSK classes, usually HSK 3 or HSK 4.
